depends on age and severity of injury. minimum of 4 to 6 weeks if only a couple of them are lightly cracked. up to 6 months or more if you are elderly and osteoporetic.
oh, and by the way, most doctors do not recommend taping them anymore. just don't lift anything heavy or do anything stupid for a while.

Dude... plan on taking it easy for quite a while. I broke one in Fallujah and it took me a week before I could get back in my HumV and man my 240B... but that's me... I'm sick that way, lol! It can take as long as 3-4 months because a rib can not be isolated so it heals slower. It all depends on how much you nurse it! A bone typically takes 8 weeks to heal... the rest is up to you!

Depends on your general fitness, age, mobility and health.
If they are not too badly cracked then as long as you adhere to the doctor's advice they usually are healed fully within 4-6 weeks.
If they are quite badly cracked, you are generally unfit and you also don't take too much notice of your doctor's advice, then they can take anything up to 3 months to heal fully, sometimes longer.

i'm on my 2d injury on a similar rib. A rib belt somewhat helps, it feels so, so solid whilst your ribs are squeezed tight, they might't circulate and reason soreness. Take deep breaths slowly and generally to dodge pneumonia which may well be a residing hell with a broken rib. different than that, you will learn what you may and would't do which will help with the therapeutic. that's going to be approximately 3 to 4 weeks earlier you will come again to everyday, (no injury dancing!) Take it ordinary and relax, take a seat or lie down whilst your domicile. that's a solid time to be a settee potato. solid success :]

Mine took several months as they were broken front and back...on average without complications a bone break will take 6 weeks. Snapped ligaments...average of 8 weeks. It depends on the severity but 6 to 8 weeks sounds right...depends what the doc says.

By personal experience...about 182 years....actually about 4-6 weeks...but they hurt like hell. I have had it happen three times to me, (Mountain climbing and other stupid thing I do) and they don't get better....don't breathe...don't even blink and the pain is more bearable...just think about food but don't eat...even my hair hurt. Try not to swallow...Actually they have a neat spray here in China that stops pain...unfortunately I don't think it is in the States....when I had my last cracked ribs, I was given this stuff and I scoffed...a spray...hahaha...but it reallys works. There is only a Chinese trade name but in English it is called Trauma Relieving Spray.

they say about 6 weeks but mine took 12 weeks because I developed a cough and also the older you are the slower the healing process.
