Nothing wrong with being scared of the dentist however you should not let it ruin your life or your teeth!

The best way to avoid the dentist is to take real good care of your teeth.

Those that are often the most scared are those who need the most work doing because they avoid going.

If you go regularly then the dentist can catch problems before they get too big.

Imagine it from the dentist's point of view, how would you like to be told several times a day that somebody hates you although you are only trying to help them. Don't go into a dentist's surgery and sat " I hate dentists" but do tell them that you are sacred/nervous/apprehensive however you want to put it. the dentist can adjust their treatment accordingly.

You can be referred to a dentist who specialises in treatment nervous patients.

I'm not scared of the dentist, just scared of the injection they give for a filling etc. It hurts so much. i have to go in two weeks the first time I have been in 10 years and I bet I need a couple of fillings.

YES! Ugh, even the thought gives me the chills. A few years ago, I had no choice but to go and have wisdom teeth out and to keep my mind off things, I would hum (yes, with my mouth open) to the music on the radio in the room just so I could pretend to be somewhere else. My dentist told me I was a first!

When I was about 10yrs old my mum took me to the dentist and he had to give me a filling, when he went to give me the injection he suck the stupid needle thru my cheek. My mumm went mad, so I dislike dentists for that and am very paranoid it may happen again.

i dont think its being scared of the dentist its the sensations or pain in your mouth that make you aware not scared. you dread it because of that certain annoyance. hence why sum people hate the dentist and others dont.

Would rather get my teeth drilled then have a phlebotomist dig around my veins for blood! But then I had braces young -- so the dentist is not biggy.
