Of course there are female avatars, although they are more young women than girls. All of the avatars look around the same age, but different hair styles may make them look older and younger. If you go to the Yahoo! avatars site and see only male choices, you need to change the gender of your avatar. Click on preferences in the upper righthand corner and you will get an option to Change My Avatar's Gender. Have fun!
