FIBA is the world governing body for basketball, is an independent association formed by 212 National federations of basketball throughout the world.
The abbrevation 'FIBA' derives from the French 'Fédération International de Basketball Amateur'. The Word 'Amaateur' was dropped in 1986 after the distinction between Amateurs and Professionals was eliminated. The 'A' in FIBA was however left. This was for reasons of tradition and also because of the 'BA' at the beginning of our sport, BASKETBALL!

la lakers beat the boston celtics 4-2...this was by the way the last time the celtics made it to the nba finals..had len bias not thrown his life away on a cocaine binge after being drafted, it seems almost a given that there would be more than 16 banners hanging in the celtics rafters...the bias curse continues

The rules are that you can't travel. You can't do double dribble.
