I am using the instructions found at http://www.progonos.com/furuti/Origami/Roses/rose-020902a.pdf. But point 8 does not make sense, how can you "lift a small square" - the paper rips!!! How do i do the "kawasaki twist"???

The paper rips sometimes, but you have to have a gentle hand and just keep practising. It works after a while just try to fold the middle of the small square, so that there is less strain on the paper.
Hope this was helpfull, I've been doing origami rose for a while and i still rip the paper sometimes, it's just luck really. lol.

i think of that os a brilliant theory! It jogs my memory of something... final twelve months my boyfriend asked me what i wanted for valentine's day, I informed him all i wanted substitute right into a rose. He have been given me a ceramic rose and mentioned it substitute into because of the fact this style it would in no way die. i might prefer to benefit the thank you to make an origami rose!
