Nah you won't need to build a bridge, just crawl under one and yell, "Ollie, Ollie, trolls set free!"
And, bring some Keebler chocolate chips, you know the ones made by little elves? They gobble 'em right up...

My advice is save your money on the purchase of a troll, its a scam.
Instead invest in a bridge and a supply of small billy goats; the troll will move in of its own accord.
If the salesmen and religious nutters turn up with a goat you're scuppered; also when your odd friends come round for the next meeting at the next full moon tell them not to forget the goat this time.

Rocks and stones are the natural diet for Trolls, however scientist have recently succeeded is making a synthetic diet, composed almost entirely of cubic zirconium. This new synthetic diet is especially formulated for Trolls and meets all of their nutritional needs. You must be a certified Troll sanctuary and have a license to purchase this synthetic diet.
As far as where you can purchase a Troll, the United States Federal Government has recently added Trolls to their species endangered list. In past years, so many Trolls have been captured that their numbers in the wild are depleting. A few sanctuaries are licensed to keep and breed Trolls, but this is strictly for scientific research and to release back into the wild.
However, you can illegally purchase wild caught Trolls via the Internet. They are wild caught in remote areas of Norway and then smuggled into the United States by various garden supply stores. Due to the fact that Trolls are quite rare, smugglers are able to charge a great deal for these wild caught Trolls. Be prepared to spend several hundred dollars for a pet quality specimen and thousands for a King Troll!
Please do some research before obtaining one of these wild caught Trolls. They can be quite nasty when they are angered and are difficult to housebreak. That is why so many people use them to guard their bridges.
On the upside, a wild caught Troll's feces contain almost perfect diamonds! In no time at all, you can regain your initial Troll investment, but this is sure to flood the market with diamonds and soon they will not be worthless. This fact has caused the De Beers' group to worry and their stock to drop drastically!
Good luck in your Troll quest!

Trolls eat a very specialised diet. It consists of a mixture of reconstituted dead people. This mixture is sprinkled with shreaded dead mens feet which is then baked in a tourine. It is best served hot but Trolls have delicate taste buds and prefer it cold. Trolls are not easy to find let alone buy. I found a seller on ebay who was prepared to extend me a line of credit for the purchase of a pair of Trolls who were prepared to breed but the cost became astronomical and I just couldn't aford it. I understand the eventual purchaser housed the Trolls in a specially constructed environment on an island in a lake on his estate. Yes, a bridge was built but a doberman guards its entrance..............................

According to Tolkien, they are particularlly fond of hobbits. As for the bridge, I think a dark arch near your door should do the trick.
PS - I love hobbits, which is why I never was able to commit myself to getting a troll, no matter how cute I think they are.

Billy Goats Gruff. Trolls can be found under bridges, this is their natural habitat and are fairly easy to catch as long as you use a Billy Goat Gruff as bait.
