consider 7,12 and 6 the common number is 84. and
so
child = 14 years(0 to 14)
youth = 12 years (14 to 26)
bachelor=7 years(26-33) at 33 he would have got married.
at 42 he attained his half age
at 38 his son would have died.

I like awesomeash's answer, and I think that 84 was indeed the intended answer, but the problem should read "...died 4 years before his own death at half of his age AT THE TIME OF HIS OWN DEATH." Without this correction, the equation should be written (x/6 +x/7 + x/12)+(5)+((x-4)/2)+(4)=x, and Speak's age at death would be 65 1/3 years.

Let the age of the person when he died be x therefore
Age of son when he died =x/2
Life spent in childhood=x/6
Life spent in youth=x/12
Life spent in bachelor=x/7
From this we get
Age till marriage+time after marriage till son's birth+age of son + no. of years son died before Speak = Age at which Speak died
so we have
(x/6 +x/7 + x/12)+(5)+(x/2)+(4)=x
or
x - 75x/84 =9
therefore x=84years
Hence Speak died at the age of 84 years.
