What is referred to her is the quality of one's life. The quality of your life partly depends on you to improve it, if it is not what you expect of it. If you have no friends, start being more sociable and get some. If you are bored, get involved in some useful activities like volunteer work to help people. These two examples are things one can do to improve your lot in life, there are plenty of other ways, if you just think about it.

Well, they normally say that if you are boring you have a pointless existence. So in order to get one: do everything you want to do...take up hobbies, learn something new...get a life!
