Yes I believe. Experiment it by keeping some sweet eatables or sugar in an air tight container nearer to the place where the ants are and see after few hours or days. You will be surprised to see ants eating the food inside it.

Ants are able to exploit discontinuities or dislocations in the space-time continuum. These are often referred to in the SF literature as "worm holes" but this is a literary illustration only as worms do not possess the ability to withstand temporal shock and so could never use them.
Ants, however, are exotic introductions to terrestial environments, having already entered our frame of reference through one of the said worm holes. Professor Formica (of zoology and theoretical physics fame) has studied this effect and postulates that ants were introduced at a time of quite advanced evolution on our part to give us exemplars of the complex building structures that civilization would need to develop in order to maintain cognitive acceleration.
So, yes, ants do possess this quality which you ask about but their ability to manipulate it is purely in the realms of speculation.

I've never studied ants but my educated guess is that they have no magical powers.
