It's more like gossip etc. I dress very professional atlhough I don't really have too, because most of the supervisors there dress professional. I'm friendly to all but not overly. I'm very into my job, but not into gossip.

example: Co-worker was investigaitng the corporate employees, their addresses, maiden names etc. My name was on her list with my maiden name under it? Why was she investigating me? This was written on a pad on her desk.

Gossip is though people are jerks.
All I can recommend is be your self and do not let people get to you. stay professional at all times and that will eventually be what they will be talking about you. It is easier said than done but it will pay off in the end. you might not ever notice but everyone around you will. It might help to get involved with some of your colleagues to get some form of relationship. besides you spend most of your day together with them might as well make friends, even if they are strange. These might be people that will give you references in the near future for a job that your really want.
Stay professional and do not let them get to you

Looking at this in the best light possible, are they just trying to get to know you a bit better and trying to be friendly? You do not have to socialize with these people outside of work; but it does make work a happier and less stressful place if people are cordial to each other. I do not know if you have ever heard of the saying of no man is an island, in other words, you cannot live an isolated life. You can exist in an isolated life; but that is not living. You do not have to divulge a lot of personal information, but if someone is giving you a friendly compliment on your outfit; you can just politely thank them and then see where the conversation leads. If you did not care about this topic, and their lives; I don't believe you would have taken the time to type this question. If anyone asks anything that makes you uncomfortable, you can either ignore it or say something along the lines of; "I'm sorry but I have a policy of not discussing my personal life, my salary, my children...whatever the case may be." I have worked in a lot of different situations over the years, and in my experience, people are generally just trying to be friendly and are attempting to make conversation. Most likely they are commenting about you behind your back because they cannot figure out why you are being unfriendly. Good luck and have a nice day!

Some individuals when you in a work setting feel that they have to bond with everyone in the office like it is a family. Sometimes these individuals forget that it is an office and not a house. However, just keep doing your job and ignore what they say. If you can try to isolate yourself by closing a door every once in a while if you have an office to yourself. Another idea is to talk to your supervisor about it, they often times you would be surpised have probally had to deal with the issue before.

simplicity is the superb way. Ask the guy or human beings in question strait up .the faster the extra suited. u the two get to observe them squirm or lie. in the event that they lie , chilly shoulder time. in the event that they fess up possibly u can get an apology yet maximum severe it we could them know you wont stand for 2 confronted pricks. the two way stay remote from those kinds. good luck, bored at artwork

That's life get used to it. Everyone in your work place will do that especially if they think it will get them 5 cents an hour more, or that promotion or anything at all.

People would rather comment on other people's lives than take a look in the mirror and examine their own pathetic existances

MY DEAR THEY ARE SIMPLY ENVY WITH YOU, IT HAPPENS TO ME AND I CAN SAY FROM EXPERIENCE THAT ITS NATURAL TO BE ENVIED BY THOSE TYPE OF PERSONS, YOU KNOW YOU HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH IT, YOU ARE BEING YOURSELF, WELL IF YOU CAN'T HELP IT, IF YOU DON'T INTEND TO MAKE YOURSELF ABOVE THE REST (INTENTIONALLY MAKE THEM JEALOUS) WELL, THAT'S THEIR PROBLEM, BUT ALSO BE AWARE OF THE POISON OF ENVY...BEWARE. ASSESS THEM INSIDE AND OUT, FOR YOUR OWN GOOD
