Only partially.

Honoring God and your parents is good.

Not murdering, stealing, committing perjury or adultery is good.

But living a holy life means a lot more.

Matthew 22:36-39 states:

"Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?"

He said to him, "You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself."

And everyone is your neighbor even your enemy.

With love in Christ.

The Ten Commandments is the best law to become good and a gauge to measure behavior. Violators are always considered committing a mortal sin which is always a crime in the laws of states.

I think yes, but, the Golden Rule probably sums it up quicker and easier. The "don't do to anyone anything that you wouldn't want done to you" - this is not word for word but I think it sums it up.
That sort of emcompasses the commandments and everything your mom told you about dealing
with others. The play nice with others routine.

I wouldn't say so, no. Just do what you want. Consider the consequences involved, weight the options, and go for it. The Ten Commandments are just a guilt trip laid on the rest of us in early childhood by goodie-two-shoes who can't get laid.

yes! But ultimately, Jesus replaced the 10 commandments with just 2:

1. Love your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your strength.
2. Love others as yourself!
