The United States has done a commendable job of sticking its nose in where it doesn't belong and forcing its will upon those less able to defend themselves. We have acted as the global "playground bully", and is it any wonder that we are despised by so many? Where influence, thinly veiled as diplomacy, has failed, brute force has had to suffice. But...like the playground bully, we only beat up on those we are damned sure won't fight back and give us a bloody nose. That's why we invaded Iraq, but will never invade North Korea or Iran, and why we never fought the USSR directly...only through protracted local skirmishes that our government used as a chessboard. We only beat up on the weak anymore.

Interesting reading. Perhaps you could produce some facts and figures for the amount of suicide bombs / incendiary devices and homemade explosives used by Islamic Militants in Israel, Iraq, Afghanistan, the U.K, and USA. I think the list would be far longer.
