Reason for askin is that I have applied for jobs but was turned down because my last name was not good enough(ie african) - Has anyone out there been placed in this situation!!!

Apartheid is the racial discrimination wherein the whites do not like colored people as if they are gods. They prefer to hire white people instead of other racial groups.

Have you considered the fact that you were not given the job because you are unable to spell or use English grammer properly? It might help for further job applications and interviews to educate yourself better, read more widely than you are currently doing and stop blaming others or the lack of "african" last name for not getting jobs.

South Africa may have got rid of apartheid but it has been replaced with Government sponsored racism and tribalism i.e they have discriminatory laws on their statute books discouraging the employment of white people in favour of black people and inner tribal rivalry is promoted so Xhosas are favoured over Zulus.

Apartheid was opposed so Liberals could con the ****** out of votes. They don't care about heterosexual whites in SA any more than they do in the US> You're fortunate that the jungle bunnies haven't killed you.

you are right but in some places we have racism and in others we have tribalism and others we have castes nad others blah blah. Just try your luck somewhere else or else you will spend the whole of your lifetime thinking about how negative the other people are! goodluck folk
