I've been living without one for a few months now and generally don't miss it, but have found myself sometimes being drawn in when around somebody's house if they have got one on. Are we able to live without one these days? Views and opinions please.

I don't work for the T.V. license company. Personally I don't agree with having to pay it for what the broadcasting companies offer. I always resented paying it when I did have to. Thanks for the replies so far

I have a TV in the front room - I used to have one in the bedroom but got rid of it as I never used it. I only use the TV to watch the news, DVDs and to get digital radio. The only TV show I ever watch is Doctor Who. Sometimes if am bored and too tired to read I watch a documentary, but this is a rare event. The last time I turned the thing on was around ten days ago.

I have one and only one in my house. I do find that I can't help having it on while I'm home, even if it's just as background noise with music. I think that I could live without one if it wasn't infront of me otherwise too tempting to have it on. It's funny, as there is only 1 or 2 programmes that I actually watch, if I can be bothered. Oh no, I've been conditioned! Ugh!

I have one in my room (along with this computer), the total amount of t.v's in my household is...seven that are working, but I have a big house and alot of family members. I don't really watch t.v., but it really helps when I babysit. I don't really need it that much (except for school news and stuff) because I'm usually on the computer or on my cell (talk or games). I don't like to think about it much, but we really are into technology a little too much...no wonder the earth is dying... :(

I have no tv, i seriosly hate tv, the programs mostly suck, or are repeats, the news is all biase/made up/drivel. Watching tv makes me feel dirty, like im being moulded, into a nice little robot, being told to buy what they want me to, do what they want me to,, sleep when they want me to, turn on the kettle when they want me to.

Sack everyone in media and retrain trhem as teachers. Burn all tvs and newspapers.

Down with any government based on a class system/old boys network

Down with currency

I don't watch television. I stopped watching it a few years back because I was bored sitting in front of the telly and not getting any conversation or life. I watch DVDs sometimes but not often.

I've never had a TV. When I was a liitle girl there was one in our school & we watched special children's shows. But since then I have never seen. At home I read , meditate ,play musical instrument , listen to music & talk to friends and cook for them.
But I go to cinema to watch films.
