The term 'Scroll Mouse' only means that it has a wheel on it to allow scrolling around pages. Most mice are now USB, Infrared or Bluetooth but they can be serial as well.

Yes it can be.. as scroll mouse is basically a simple mouse with added feature of scrolling through its scroll wheel in the center.
Serial is the connector of the mouse, mouse can be serial, USB, wireless, Bluetooth as they are all mode of connectivity with your PC and has nothing to do with the actual mouse..

no, a scroll mouse is a mouse with a scroll bar on it. a serial mouse is old school. they plug into a serial port.
