Does any one keep a marimo?

How do you look after it? because i think it is getting some kinda straw-likethingy on its surface and i don't know if it is harmful (to humans) to touch the marimo again and give it a good wash and squeeze.

Anyone an expert on marimo? thanks

You can rinse it out carefully to get the dirt off. It is simply a form of algae and will not harm you.
