Are you in favor of disarming america and changing our civil rights? Also are you a libral or conservative? I am hearing librals worring about this and they say it will be a very bad sign if the govt tries to disarm america. They did it for atrina. If they say it is for "your protection" is this a comfort to you?
Would this "protect" us along with our phones being tapped and our houses being searched?

Librals in the west have guns. The like their guns. Anti gun is not always a libral thing. It might be in the big city, but not out west where I live. Librals and Conservatives are armed.

PS I am not an investigator. I just like civil rights and I am a libral with not guns, but feel that people have a right to bear arms. I have known many librals with guns since I was a kid. I have shot them. My dad was in the NRA okay?

Get over it. Here in the wild west librals have guns. Some CA people freak out when they come, but we grow up with it. I am a libral and I went to the firing range every weekend with my dad when I was a kid. I do not have any. I like other forms of self protection, but that is my choice. Guns are dangerous when people handle them improperly. Colimbine was about bullying not gun control. Michael Morre was wrong on that. He does not understand.

Never! Genocide is happening around the world to people who were first disarmed. In more stable countries, it results in higher rates of violent crime. I am conservative. It does my heart good to know lots of liberals support the 2nd Amendment, too.
It is a tragedy when guns are misused and someone dies. But it is a greater tragedy when the populace is made defenseless.
As for "your protection," a lot of government intervention is well-intentioned, but does a lot of damage. I know from personal experience. We do not need the government "helping" us by "protecting us from ourselves." We need the government to squelch crime by putting the bums in jail and executing those worthy of execution. Studies have shown it works.

The 2nd amendment reads, "A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." So while I agree with many of the posters that guns should be allowed, I must point out that they are allowed in order to keep up a police force, not for every citizen to have. This amendment is often chopped in half, the 2nd half of the sentence used and abused by those who are against gun control. That being said, I am not for disarming America - I recently moved to a not so nice part of Boston and would definitely sleep better if I had a gun for self protection. But I am for very strict and responsible gun control.

You will see conservative and liberals fight to the death to keep our 2nd Amendment rights in tact. I guess the only reason they took the guns away in New Orleans was because rescue people were being shot at. Lawlessness became the rule, not the exception down there. The courts ruled that this will never happen again. The guns will stay with the people. No one will disarm Americans. Not going to happen.
Your house is not being searched unless there is a good reason and a warrant. I can pretty much guarantee your phone is not tapped either. Unless you have given reason for attention to be turned on you, you have nothing to worry about.

I think you are getting your parties confused. Gun owners are traditionally conservative.. the liberals want to put the responsibility of gun ownership on the gun manufacturer instead of onto the gun owner himself. This is a very heated topic and always gets more attention right after a shooting especially in a school. I don't believe it would be wise to disarm America. Look at England and Australia, both countries have outlawed guns and the crime rate has soared. I feel education is the key, if you are going to own a gun, you must be required to take some kind of course to acquaint you with the safety's and dangers of gun ownership.
And... quit listening to the liberal rhetoric; Our phones are not being tapped and have you really had your house searched?

Right to Bear Arms should not be taken away. As long as my city's neighborhood "peace officer" is able to carry a loaded weapon & an assault rifle in his truck too, then I can too. I've nothing against the police, but I want to be able to protect my person and property from a criminal in self-defense. Then after the police arrive, they can put another bullet in him if they want. I'm not going to get into the debate about Big Brother phone tapping or home searches when I don't have a telephone to tap and I live out in the boonies without locking my doors. I wish that I could fight pro on the argument of my home is my castle and no one has the right to search without due process, but that one went out the window awhile ago in Los Angeles.

We do not need our Civil Rights changed. Considering all that is going on in the world, there are many citizens of the United States that would not take too kindly to having their right to bear arms taken away. People are feeling very uncertain and insecure over all of the hatred and terrorism in the world. Some people may feel as if they have to protect themselves, their homes and their families. Hopefully, it will not come to that; but in an insecure world, every right that we are entitled to via the Constitution becomes even more important. If the government needs to tap my phone and search my house, let them. I don't have anything to hide. I'm sure they will find my everyday life pretty "normal" and boring. Have a good day!

Conservatives have always opposed taking away guns, but now a conservative government took away guns after Katrina. And many liberals I know are now insisting that they will not give up their guns.
So, maybe it is the people in power who want to disarm us and the people out of power who want to keep their weapons??
I am a liberal who has always believed in keeping our guns.

In your profile, you said you respect people of all cultures and religions. I am calling you a liar. You have followed me around on this forum just to insult me, when you know nothing about me. You also said in your profile that you don't like people bashing on each other here. Why do you do it to me then? You have called me an ignorant Southerner, which I am not. I went to college and made excellent grades. Despite what you think you know, I am not more concerned about hair and makeup than I am education. On the contrary, education is the most important thing to me. I have read hundreds of books, I speak THREE languages, I play musical instruments and I have just had a poem published by the National Library of Poetry. I would say that that blows your "ignorant Southerner" theory out, wouldn't you?
I am calling you a hypocrite and a liar. BTW, if you don't like my avatar, too damn bad. You should learn something about someone before you bash them and be made a fool of. Also, I am sick and tired of you calling me a racist and you claim to be a religious woman, yet you said you hate me. That is what you said. Again, you are a hypocrite.
