That's a good question. However, I never say "supermarket." I'm a "grocery store" kinda girl.

Not very often, in my case. I would normally just say the name of the store, at least around home. If i was away from home, i might use the term "supermarket".....but only until i knew the names of the local stores.

I live in the South, so I dunno if it makes a difference....but I never say supermarket....I just say store....grocery store, convenience store, clothing store. I just say I'm going to the store. lol
