They want to be able to feel that they are needed for something other than SEX(and reproduction). So they pay themselves more so that they can call us Gold Diggers and have control over us because we need them for financial support. BUT all of that is changing because we are not being tied down by them anymore. We are making our own money and supporting us and sometimes our husbands and children all by ourselves. To sum it all up they want to be in control.

You just answered your own question. Traditionally women take care of the house and the children. Even in the most professional, politically correct environment, women/mothers will still be called on first when children are sick, when field trips need to be planned, etc...
Thus the AVERAGE salary is lower for women, indirectly, due to loss time at work.
When I speak of loss time I don't mean that the women are not putting in ALL required hours. It simply means men have a higher quantity of POSSIBLE work hours, and that is why they get paid more.
Keep in mind, also, that 90% of jobs are going to have "equal pay" for "equal work". Differences to the average are going to occur in higher level jobs where extra time and energy are expected for positions.
In addition, a huge determining factor of salary is negotiation, and it is up to the job candidate to successfully negotiate thier salary.

Your use of "always" is incorrect. Perhaps you should have used "often". The answer lies in how employers perceive women's abilities. Men and women are not the same, contrary to what you may believe or what you have heard. There are a lot of things some women do better than some men and visa versa. I know a disparity exists in many jobs, but the gap is closing somewhat. And regarding handling jobs around the house, a similar situation exists. It's not as bad as you make it. Many employers recognize that there are shining stars among women just as there are among men and reward them commensurately.
'nuff said?

Which decade are u in madame????? I'm drawing more salary than my husband in spite of the fact that he is a CA and i'm not. And the most important thing is we dont have any ego clashes (touchwood!!!) till date.
It only depends on how u carry urself and the basic approach u have towards ur job. A person not having a good approach will only get a lesser salary, nevermind its a male or female.

Because women do two roles in their life. People aspect that when women will get a child she will be the one who will care for a child when a child get sick, she will be the one who will be with a child in his/her's early life. When man will participate in childcare, salary will be equal.

i don't agree.. there could be many factors: seniority, direct selection/recruitment, efficiency, absent ism.. these are some of the over all factors.. it is not just energy... if u are working in an office the dual role is personal matter of the woman

I have never heard of something so stupid, and if at all it is so, then it could have happened only to women like u who boast of doing two jobs in life and expect to get paid for it.
