A woman's "flaws," as SHE perceives them, are frankly one of the biggest barriers in our relationship. As time roles on, she learns that in every sense of the words I use, not only to describe her, but to describe how I feel about her, she is remarkable - beautiful - captivating. Yet this beautiful being, whose every glance thrills me, every sound captures me, every movement entrances me, and every thought lures me, often shakes my vision of the depths into which I swim, when I revel in all she is, by pulling me back to the superficial. She focuses on a few extra pounds, the wrinkles, and on all the things that she'd never overtly vocalize to me, but which clearly haunt her vision of herself.

*sigh*

Women, do you believe me when I not only "say" you are beautiful, but when I "feel" it? ..... All you are rifles through me in an instant, and always. Do you do believe me? Is there something I should say?..... do?..... whatever?..... when you don't see yourself the way I do?

Unfortunately Nobody truly believes the good in themselves. The most beautiful, intelligent, creative and artistic people will always believe the bad first.
My boyfriend tells me all the time I am beautiful, but due to past experiences I find it hard to believe. I am scared of letting someone tell me how wonderful I am for fear of being dumped further down the line, which would knock my confidence a lot.

The old saying of "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" is perfect for this question. We all see things differently and that is a fact of life.

Continue the compliments and the heart felt feelings you have and say, It is what makes YOU a truly remarkable person!!

I believe you...and your challenge is in making your lady believe it, too...for once you succeed (as you probably already know)...you will discover a much deeper connection. We live in a world comprised of superficiality and shallow values. It took me many years to arrive at the same conclusions you just expressed so eloquently.

It was hard won, but my sweetest victory. It freed my spirit in all respects and it enabled me to stay in touch with my own intrinsic value as a spirit, human being, and as a woman. I am far more enchanting and genuine as a person...and in an ironic twist...it draws more to me of a deeper and lasting value...and it gave me so much more to offer to another in this respect. Real is so much better!

I would love my husband to say those beautiful things to me! I get stuck up on little things because he never says any of those sweet things you say. I think if he did I would have a lot more confidence.
If you stop saying those things, she will suddenly realise how much they meant to her.
So how do I get my husband to tell me those nice things?...

well, first of all, all women feel like that at times, its just the way we are, and i agree it can get tedious and boring hearing about how she 'hates' herself all the time, so, tell the straight, 'you know your beautiful, lovley, so come and gimme some of that good stuff!'
