I used to think that an important point in being enlightened was simply belief that you were. Unfortunately this was not it.

The final step for me, that final leap of humility, the acceptance that I cannot achieve enlightenment, that it cannot be attained is a very tricky thing indeed. The total act of humility and submission that is required is still beyond me and it is beyond me because I still believe it is something 'I' have to 'achieve'.

But this is where it gets interesting. It is impossible to not be enlightened. It is what we are. It is only through seeking enlightenment that you miss what is in front of your face. Or more to the point, what is your face. We are enlightened before we are born, we are one with the universe and God weather we like it or not, we can no more be separated from it than a wave can be separated from sea water. It is our nature. It is the futile attempt to accord with that which we are inseparable from that causes the state of human suffering.

So in a word yno LOL

One thing I do know, I'm definitely having a good time.

Anyone who claims to be enlightened isn't. That's just the ego talking. Enlightenment is shown by action, not by declaration.
To believe you are enlightened is also a fallacy, another trick of the ego.
I am definitely not enlightened.

I would have to be free from ignorance, prejudice or superstition.
I try to be factually well-informed and check things but I suppose it is only human to give in to one's instincts from time to time, it is our one of our weaknesses. Tolerance is something we all like to boast about but it is also very difficult to accept things, or beliefs which are contrary to our own way of living. So in conclusion though I strive to be enlightened I don't think I really am.
