When given roses or other flowers, as they begin to dry, pinch the flower head and pull. Most of the petals will come off. Put them in a disposable plastic bowl in the microwave. "Nuke" on high one minute, stir and nuke until dry. It only takes a few minutes but it is important to nuke and stir. not just heat and heat. Pick fresh flowers and pine cones and morning mushrooms and lichen and moss and nuke, nuke, nuke.
OR bake at 150 degrees in oven stirring every ten minutes.
Your home will smell FABULOUS. To re=energize, gather all potpourri and dry in the microwave, add drops of essential oil if needed.

to make potpourri, dry the flowers hanging upside down, then mix the dried flowers, some spices like cinnamon chips or vanilla bean, and an oil based fragrance you like and ground orris root, store in a tightly closed jar two weeks, then put some in an open bowl and enjoy.
