As a liberal you cannot make me swallow my teeth. That would a violation of my civil rights and against your parties pacifist line. As a liberal you should not call other people ignorant. That could possibly offend someone and is also very much against your parties theme, and you could lose your life membership to the ACLU! With a name such as Tom Science, I have to assume your are a college kid and therefore not old enough to know better yet, but

Actually I can give you an educated answer to this question believe it or not.
The republicans in control figured out a long time ago that hate was the #1 factor that motivated ppl to vote. (Saw this on a frontline show about Karl Rove where he said that) So, if you can motivate ppls prejudices thereby get their hate brewing, they will vote for you so loyally that they are blinded by whatever else you do. Hate makes ppl think in terms of us and them where if you are on their side they will overlook anything against the enemy... the ones you both hate.
You see this a lot with the gay issue (this was what K.Rove has used repeatedly to motivate hate) and you see this where they have painted a black face on the democratic party.
