Does it do any good to ban simple everyday items, contact solution, water bottle, deodrants, shampoos, makeup any liquid bottled items, and carry on luggage after the fact?!!

Don't know about you but I'd be PISSED if they took to throw out my makeup, even contact solutions can cost a pretty penny. Didn't we learn after the whole nail clipper thing?

And if you must bring baby milk someone has to taste it!!! Sounds crazy especially if it's all AFTER the fact. What do you think?

checked luggage will be a mess with all those "liquids"!!! Whos to say that it's any safer to allow bottled items in checked luggage in the hold?!!

I, like you, am pissed too, as I always carry a bottle of water, toothpaste and contact solution in my carry on bag. After my initial reaction of "you have to be sh--- me", I have calmed down. Even though it is after the fact, at least they found the items before anything tragic took place.

I travel quite extensively on business and I would have never thought about someone trying to bring liquid explosives onboard a plane, but after reading and listening to the news, it makes sense to now ban those items. To me, it's really scarry to think what can be made into an explosive, so I think that it doesn't matter when they discover things, as long as they discover them.

As for the checked baggage, I think that I remember seeing a documentary that said that the luggage containers are explosive proof and would contain a blast.

Whatever they do to make things safer for me as a traveler, I'm all for it.

Well, It Is After-The-Fact, But It's Only Banning From Carry-On, Just Check Your Luggage and There Shouldnt Be Any Problem Or Complaining...But You Gotta Think Back In '95 A Guy Was About To Nitroglycerin Onto A Plane...So I Dunno

My thoughts and your thoughts have nothing to do with the price of tea. The persons saddled with the responsibility to maintain our security have decreed that based on evidence retrieved, no carry on luggage would be allowed except for the few essential items and they should be in clear see through plastic--period.

that stuff just has to be in the bags that are checked, you can't carry them on anymore, I hate this phony security stuff but this shouldn't be a big deal, people were really starting to bring a lot of things on board, sacks full of snacks and beverages & the oversize carry on bag thing is out of control, it's time to tighten things up a bit.
