In a Jewish religious book, about how one should control himself and avoid getting angry, Sozonov's name is mentioned with a curse (the fact he was in a bad mood was, as the book claims, the reason Russia entered the war. I think it was Russia's duty, to stop the Austro-Hungarian Empire, which was carrying a Genocide against Russia brother nation, the Serbs). I would like to know why.

In his memoirs Sazonov blames Great Britain for not supporting Russia and France strongly in the first hours of crisis. Such support, in his opinion, could potentially stop the war, as it happened in 1911 during the Agadir incident.

In a separate episode, much later (in 1915), when Jewish representatives complained to Sazonov about atrocities against Jews, he argued that he was surprised by hostility of Halician Jews and didn't help. Could it be this episode?
