I used to be a Notts student and miss the place. Answer which makes me most pathetically nostalgic wins!

I was at Nottingham University 1979-81 and had the chance to visit the place a few years ago. What struck me was the amount of buildings that have sprung up and the number of cars there - much more than in my day. I think a lot of them belonged to students.
I remember the UH buildings in one of which there always seemed to be a band practising, when I walked past on my visit I could swear the same band was practising!
I also remember the chippy at Lenton Boulevard, a great way to end a night drinking in Beeston.
Another fond memory is doing the Bogle Stroll, 25 miles through the night.
Nottingham city centre was a great place in those days - The Bell, The Trip and the other pub just up the road from The Trip whose name I can't remember. From what I see though, the place has gone the way of many towns and is not a pleasant place to spend a Saturday night, or am I just getting old?

My boyfriend is currently at Nottingham Uni, we enjoy going to that pub near Beeston Station (the one where you have to hold onto your pints when trains go past!). We like all the different ales. Can't remember its name cos I live in Brum.
