If the oil myth was true, why are we paying almost $3.50 a gallon? You liberals need to come up with some new material. It's getting old.
As for the asker's question: Everyone wants the war to end. Unfortunately we have to see it through to the end. I'm waiting for the Iraqi government to tell us it's okay to leave. Why haven't they done it yet?
This whole thing might have been settled long ago if Clinton wouldn't have sat on his hands while terrorists tried blowing up the WTC the first time, trying to blow up the SS Cole, Marine barracks, blah blah blah...

Because the terrorists wont keep the fight in the middle east. It is their goal to kill all westerners and infidels. We are all targets. The loss of our troops hurts me, I lost my best friend in Iraq in June of 04. But all it does is prove to me, if we don't do something it will be on our front door again.
What did we do to deserve the embassy bombings in the 90's or the first World Trade center attack in 93'.
People don't want this to continue, but if we don't fight this, Who will? We have to do this. It is the right thing to do. Even though Bush is not doing a very good job, taking the fight to them is the right idea. I would rather have the fighting there, than here.

I understand your concern, and it's a valid one. The loss of life is always a tragic thing, but it is nowhere near the death rate that Vietnam had.
Many would argue that taking the fight overseas has created a degree of security - a buffer zone if you will - that has put us on the offensive instead of waiting around like sitting ducks. It's in our best interest to forge strong alliances in the region. Although Iraq is still heading in the wrong direction, it will eventually get better. You just have to persevere in situations like this. It will pay off in the long run...

It is not like Vietnam, which tells me you were not old enough to fight or vote in the Vietnam Era......anyeay.....there is a battle going on for the preservation of the worlds lifestyle and freedoms.....it is world war three, whether the rest of the world wants to admit it or not.....Terrorists are everywhere, and if you do not go after them, the will bring your country down....we are doing the write thing.......BTW, in this same amount of time in WW2.....there was over 13,000,000 million dead....so quit the whining about our m,measly 2600, it could be so much worse.....and will be for the world if things do not change

America knows that if you control the oil, you control the world. Do you think we're stupid enough to let the terrorists control the oil?
This isn't a stupid war, it is a necessary evil. I am in the military and most of us support the war. Everytime I hear a civilian talk about how we should get out of there, I grit my teeth.
You can support us by supporting our president. He is doing what is necessary to keep the nation strong.

You are correct more than you realize.
Iraq is now in the middle of a Civil War. This means that our troops are there protecting ppl that are killing each other which is another Vietnam.

normal people are able to see whats and whos behind all these. the major problem in middle east is israel the trouble maker. and because of that, usa is dragged in that conflict.
but on the other hand, usa also has an interest that is the oil. that's a shameful thing.
