Number of fatalities in Air Accidents (the entire world - pop est 6.6 billion people)

Number of fatalities in Accidental falls in the UK alone (pop est 60 million)
year 2000 - 4281

Think about it, you are far more likely to die by accidentally falling over than by being the victim of terrorism.

Are you STILL scared?

Can we call off this stupid, futile and counter productive, terrorism fuelling war on terror now?

Most of it is overhyped ITN style bullcrap.
If there was not so much coverage then there wouldnt be so many doing it. They love the attention, they cant be matyrs if no one watches them. The report of the airport security heightening should have been:

"We can no report that Police have thwarted a terror plot and that airport security has been heightened, there may have been some delays, now in other news..."

Make no hooha no sensationalism, show that people dont care.

There should also be more piss taking of terrorists, seriously nobody likes to be on the end of mickey taking especially not people who believe by blowing themselves up they get to bed 40 virgins, thats a serious goal. So I propose new terrorist sit coms.

"Johnnie where is my lucky shoe for todays flight?"
"Lucky shoe?"
"Yes my "LUCKY" shoe!"
"Oh your "lucky shoe"!, I gave it to young Dave to polish for your "big day"... oh dear"
*BOOOOOOOOOM*

(Canned Laughter)

Posibilities are endless!
(How reported am I. Sigh. Dont take life too seriously guys it causes wars)

Not scared unless they start getting nukes. Even 1 or 2 nukes will skew these statistics dramatically.

Its like the Iraq war, less US troops have died since the beginning of the war than there have been traffic deaths in LA. But look how the media makes it look?

One thing you are overlooking is the effects of Terrorism.
It could be that our way of life is worth fighting for.

(PS_ accidental discharge of a firearm in the US in 2002
only 776 compared to drowning deaths of 3,842... its all relative)

I wasn't scared to begin with. To call the war in Iraq "The War on Terror" was merely a ploy to manipulate the still-grieving Americans into accepting Bush's personal, not political agenda.

It's p1ssed me off since it started.

I don't think it is the fact that we die, it is how we go.

Terrorism is scary, and no one wants to die that way. So we focus on it because of how horrific it is.

But no matter what we are going to die, death is a part of life. It is inescapable. But while we are alive, we don't want to think about our impending death. Acts of terror have a way of bring it into our minds.

People vary in their fears and not everyone reacts irrationally.
