I receiver e-mails in colour from my friends, and I observe that some of my friends' pcs have the said editing tool bar for bold, italics, font colour change etc. No one is able to tell me why their pc has the tool bar and mine does not have. I try to add it through "view"..."toolbars"....but I am not able. So what should I do?

I am sorry the answers I got don't apply to me because (1) I use the internet explorer and (2) my friends don't pay for the service. It is just the free yahoo service for the just as for me.

If you are asking about www.yahoomail.com and editing tool doesn't come then, follow this step

log in to yahoomail.com account

then click on "Options" it must show on top right hand side

then click on "General Preferences"

then scroll down and see for "Composing E-mails"

there you have two options for "Composing E-mails"

Mode:

Compose messages as color and graphics
Compose messages as plain text

select the first one option and then click on "Save" button at the end of page at left side.

Now go back to compose mail and see now you have all editing buttons there for your mail.

Switch your Yahoo! Mail account to the new Yahoo! Mail Beta version. This new version of Y! Mail acts like a real e-mail application, much like Outlook Express.

Click the Compose button or the Reply button if you're responding to a message. To the right of the subject input field, there is a link for Rich Text. Click on it once and a toolbar with text formatting tools will appear. Now you can apply, bold, italic, font style and sizing, underlining, color, highlighting, smileys, links, rules, alignment, indenting, lists and now stationery styles for adding backgrounds and motifs.
