My husband has been there and he really liked it. We are going to go sometime but right now there is too much instability in the government so we are going to wait a couple years. He said it is a really warm friendly country and very beautiful. I can't wait.
I think there are tours that go but you should check on the internet.

yes. i've been to the capital, tbilisi. what do you want to know? there's some political unrest and criminal activity, but you can become a part of it, and make money! everyone smokes. everything is amazingly cheap. there are a lot of gypsies, and they'll try to pick your pockets (mostly by rushing you, friendlily enough, in a group of kids), but they're so cute, and the money's so worthless, y'hardly care. they have very good cellphone service, and absolutely no landline service. you can get satellite tv, but an internet connexion above 56k (and that's a marvel, in itself), is unheard of. this is all from a poor (seriously - ~$12,000/yr, american) american's viewpoint. oh, the gypsies beg, too, which is somewhat more annoying. the georgians hate them... and everyone else. the city georgians hate the country georgians. i never met any country georgians, but i imagine it's the same. they hate all of their neighboring countries, but not, necessarily, to the point of going to war with them. last i looked, the georgians LOVED americans, though... especially jack mormons. all georgians have black hair. if you're blond, as i am, you're stared at, not unlike a circus freak. blonde women are assumed to be ukranian whores. i know of one vegetarian restaurant, and one english language bookstore (otsdetotchmenti [it's a number - 43, i think; the only georgian i recall] - the ch being the german gutteral - on the main street, off a little courtyard. there's only one main street; y'can't miss it. go there. they're nice. there are a great many ukrainian whores. georgian bears no relation to any other language, but everyone can speak russian. all for now.

Hello dear!
Well, Georgia was the place where the Golden Fleece was kept, till 4,000 years ago! The "Georgians" were in frequent contact with Greece, Magna Grecia, and also all the west and East! Thousands of years later, Russia became a state and Turks invaded from the East!
Georgia is a peaceful country with superb people!
