best way is to earn a degree in related fields like astronomy, physics, aerospace engineering, etc...

Go to graduate school for astronomy/astrophysics/space science/whatever the school wants to call it. Get a Ph.D. Get a job as an astronomer. That's it! Really.

Want more advice? As an undergrad, take lots of astronomy and physics classes. You don't necessarily have to major in astronomy, and a lot of schools don't even have astronomy majors.
