China is a country that cries too much...they always complain about Japan and Taiwan...why can't they just let go of the past...let Koizumi visit the shrine who cares...Japan gives billions of dollars to China but they still cry like babies...isn't one of their excuses for not participating in some talks because their feeling were hurt about Koizumi visiting a shrine...grow up...China wants to be a big player in the world but they don't act like one...they never do what is for the greater good...they can influence iran but they choose not to...why...selfishness...about the Chinese people...i have only met a few...most kept to themselves and were really rude to me...they like to watched pirated movies and listen to pirated Cd's...so i never really trusted them...I don't trust China as a country and i couldn't trust the Chinese people i met...but there could be some nice Chinese people...but i have never met them...

China is a blooming economical market, in other words China is the future. Of all the international languages to learn right now it would be Mandarin in the top five.
I am a business major at the University of Maryland European division and I have written many peepers on this subject. You have something to be proud of. Your people are well on their way of becoming very stable and wealthy country. The culture blended with business ethics makes building get stomped out of the ground a lot faster than in any western country.
Your traditions are fascinating and are still practiced to this very day. Giving China a strong sense of pride and working style. Of course there are flaws and weak points as there are in another country. The other plus is that Chinese people have established a world wide connection to each other making trade and business run a lot smoother and easier.
The more the Chinese government relaxes and gives the people some more freedoms the markets will bloom all across China not just the east coast.

An investigation of what...the way the world views China and the Chinese people ? I live in the USA and my watch was made in China. Some of my shirts were made in China. My sneakers were...you guessed it...made in China. My black leather jacket was made in China. This should tell you something. I once had some dealings with a company in China and it was an experience. They knew English but not enough to do business on the Internet. I think the Chinese people are industrious and want the better things in life. One more thing...it is my understanding that the leaders of China will allow Hong Kong to remain as is. Hong Kong represents what capitalism is all about. It is my hope that the USA and China will always work together to make planet Earth a better place for all.

From the family klan, they really have tight bounding each other.
From their brain, most of Chinese, not so smart, but because they are so disipline (sometimes combine with tricky too) to achieve something, they can become no.1 in the class, in the business, or anything whatever they wanna be.
But if you go to their country, most city except beijing or shanghai, is a very dirty city, most of people do not care about spitting everywhere, threw their garbage everywhere, and the very bad thing, they do not want flush their toilet, so be carefull go to public toilet in China, better use toilet in International Hotel or Hospital.
But Chinese in SIngapore already change their root attitude, they very proud of the cleaness of their country.
Outside of China, Chinese people sometimes become very rich, but unfortunatelly in their country there's a lot of poor people.

I like your question. First of all, I think that many people are scared of China's booming economy and its effects on the rest of the world.
Furthermore Chinese people are slowly starting to roam all over the world, studying and learning all languages. It seems easier for them to learn new languages than the other way around. Maybe I am wrong on this but from my point of view it seems harder for a European student, for example, to learn Chinese than for a Chinese student to learn French. Am I wrong on this?
I mean China officially knows more than a thousand dialects and three main streams.
What I also find funny is that in the Netherlands I find chinese food and dishes which do not exist in China! How come? For example: Fou Yong Hai with shrimps, an egg dish with tomatoe sauce, you can buy it at every corner in Holland, every Chinese restaurant but once arrived in China, they have never heard of it in their lives! Same in Italy, there they have chinese dishes, which do not exist in the Netherlands, there is a completely different approach and concept.
What I also find fascinating about the Chinese, is that in general they tend to solve their own problems. The Chinese community in the Hague, f.e. is never involved in small crimes and petty theft. Only for the big cases, it seems that Chinese suspects are at play. I know this for a fact because my friend is a detective at the local police department. What I am trying to say with this example is that it seems that the social control within the Chinese community abroad, as I see it, is far more strict than in the Dutch community, as it seems. I can be wrong but this is from my own point of view, which of course is coloured because of lack of experience. Hence my answer to you.
In conclusion, I think the Chinese are at least fascinating and I would like to learn more about them in the future. Good luck to you and take care.
