are you asking about drivers for USB 1 ? or you plan to upgrade the USB port 1 to USB 2 ?

If you asking about drivers for USB 1:
- if you install a different drivers you can have some problems. Will be a matter of test and see.

at anytime you can look to add to your computer an USB 2 PCI adapter. Will work fine and you will have the appropriate drivers inside the box.

Yeah it should work depending on the O.S. If it is win 98 sorry about your luck. Win 98 can is supposed to support a USB but it doesn't usually. If you want to transfer files through a USB you have to be using at least Win 2000 or higher. Win ME might work but i don't know. You need to upgrade.

it should work, a USB 2 device performs at USB 1.1 speed when in such a port.

he can buy a PCI card with USB 2 ports on if he would like to upgrade them.
