English Regency Shower circa 1810.
Although, humans were bathing under "waterfalls" much, much, earlier.
(very cool Q).

I would say the day Oprah did an entire show around how she felt baths were gross and we were all "bathing in our own filth". I hardly ever take showers. I am too lazy to stand for that long.

i do both, but the gov tells us that the bath tub uses more water , some people think baths leave you dirty and showers wash it all down the drain not leaving any trace elements on you, i think they are a bit obsessive.

when the shower was invented.
on a serious note... probably has something to do with todays fast paced lifestyle. theres no time for a bath anymore. just my guess.

When people discovered that showers actually cleaned them, unlike sitting in filthy water afterwards?
I really don't know the *real* answer to this one sorry.
It makes me cringe to think that anyone still sits in a bathtub though...bit of a phobia there maybe.
