why do you want all Americans to be poor?

He has convinced the American ppl that if you increase the minimum wage it will hurt the economy. This is not true. When the poor get an increase in minimum wage they spend the money becasue they need it. This means that money goes right back into the economy = an economic boost.

As far as your question, this is nothing new. The republican party for the past 50 years has been about promoting the rich and corporations at the cost of the poor and middle class.

As long as they keep doing this, the rich will keep funding them and keep them in power. A person without money can NEVER get elected into office. So you see, if you are the party with all the money behind you then you are the party that will be in control.

What's up with these inexperienced ppl who think minimum wage is temporary... It is not about min. wage. It is about that being the base. I personally know ppl who have college degrees and work for 7.15 an hour that started off at min. wage. Why? Because they lost their jobs when a company moved to Mexico. That put 6000 ppl at once into this city all at once looking for jobs. And it has not gotten any better.

I've seen ppl who were making 50k a year end up making 22k per year after losing their jobs due to outsourcing, etc...

Do you think that would make a difference? he could raise it to 15.00 an hour, and it wouldn't matter, there would still be the poor.......to pay someone that much an hour, the costs would go up of everything we buy...For instance, Mac D's has a labor cost goal of somewhere between 18 and 20%....figuring that there are 5 at a time working, then that would mean, seeing how the minimum pay at most is $6, they would need to make 150 dollars an hour....that would not be too hard during lunch and dinner.....however, with an increase to any amount, but going with mine, that would be $75 dollars and hour, which would mean they would have to make at least 375 an hour in sales....do you think they will eat that 225 themselves? Nope, the double cheeseburger will cost 5 dollars....the quarter pounder close to 10..etc etc....raising minimum wage does not help anything....it just makes things cost more.....and that would be if the food costs didn't go up due to the wage change

The min wage was designed for teenagers and not for the common worker. If you can't find a job making more than $10 I suggest you look in the mirror and improve yourself.

YES and politicians(Congress) has just given themselves a big raise. How come you only care for the rich? Your friends like Halliburton and big oil companies and give them the tax breaks?
