i mean, come on.... it's just manifestation of foolish tribal instincts that has outlived it's usefullness. let me give you a hint: THEY ARENT REAL. they are just lines on a map with a nice marketing campaign to get you to accept that the rich people in the area own you, and might send you to die to fight other less-rich people who you probably never even talked to, let alone argued with. how stupid is that? i can't believe people still wave flags...it's shameful.. and all the whining about representing an ideal or a vision.. just means you bought the marketing. guess what? we could have all the good things countries provide, without all the bad. but it would require the men in power to give up that power. please.. commence mindless flag waving now... :)

I agree with you, to a point. People who have the capacity to think logically may be able to work through the concepts of unity and not nationalism. But the problem comes up when the people who are not able to wrap their brain around it attack or assault those who do. I feel that we are surrounded by idiots, I wish they could see the big picture but their primitive minds wont allow them to see past themselves.

Maybe one day, but I doubt I will see it in my life time.

The morons wont let go and blame others for not letting the old notions go... when we call others fundamentalists why wont we at the same time examine our own belief systems and see how it is laden with deep seated fundamentalism. There is no difference in national feeling and religious sentiment in essence. Both harness myths, both create the other.

Yep, One world government, great idea, that way 1 person could control the whole world! Or how about no one in control, therefore no law, therefore, I could take everything you own and all you could do is whine some more!

You have a point, but no one's come up with anything better than the nation-state as of yet.
