It would be very wrong if our government did that. Thank goodness they don't.

Torture is wrong, and the injustice of torture causes terrorism.
As for torturing terror suspects? the fact they are a suspect and have not been tried before an impartial court with evidence presented means that they may not have committed ANY terrorism or terrorelated activities at all.
In this case, they will say anything and agree to anything to get the torture to stop.
It is innocent people being tortured in camp X-ray and in Bagram and in other places that leads to terror raids all over the world and more innocent people being locked up and mistreated.
The high profile ricin plot case in the UK came about because an innocent man was tortured and named a fake plot against people in the UK.
there was no ricin and no evidence whatsoever of a plot.
We now have these 24 'suspects' held in the UK today and the media FULL of speculation about what was planned and when. not one newspaper today can agree on the number of planes, the airlines, the dates, the methodology or any other part of this ALLEDGED plot.
There have been many many terror raids and so far, not 1 conviction for terrorism. There isn't any evidence that such plots are happening. Every time there is a high profile case, or any evidence of foiled plots, it comes out very quetly a few days or weeks later that the security services or the police where wrong, or that the information was made up by some government offices 'spin machine' and is fake.
There have been Muslims arrested and detained and tortured abroad on suspicion of terrorism or links with terrorism at the behest of MI5. The only problem being, the detainees thought that they where working for MI5.
We have more evidence of MI5, MI6 and other agencies employing Muslims and then disposing of them when not needed and direct evidence of MI5 involvement in 7/7 than any evidence of actual terrorist cells in the UK.
Torturing is not a cure, but a hinderence to a cure for terrorism.
I hope, REALLY hope that these arrests are genuine and a real plot was foiled, but I have yet to see any real evidence of any plot. I hope the case comes to court and this time the security services are right.
I would love to be able to have faith in our security services once more, but until I see genuine evidence of an actual plot, instead of wild media speculation, I remain skeptical.
the timing was far too convenient for the Bush and Blair Governments.

nope...what the terrorists plan to do to innocent civillians is way worse...talk or get a booty shock...they have a choice..and if their so brave as to go on all of these kamikaze missions, then they should be able to handle pain in any form...think about the damage they are trying to inflict on the country and its citizens

Dammit, who let the secret out??? I TOLD THEM NOT TO TELL ANYONE!
Seriously though, If the terrorists don't have a problem torturing Americans, I really don't care what is done to them, although I think that they should just be executed for their crimes.

all torture is wrong. It doesn't work. You could make Ghandi confess to killing Abraham Lincoln under torture.
