if a american guy marries a british girl and lives in england would the child speak with a british accent? (most likely,huh? since everyone else is british n thats the main influence on speech patterns...) or will he speak with an american accent? (very slight possibility) n since the american guy is only 18 when he moves to england cud his accent change? to a british one ?

I think both the child's and the american guy's accent would be british due to the surroungdings...after a period of time...you will adapt to your environment subconsiously...trust me on this....I have friends from american over in singapore using the singaporean accent(singlish)

no i don't think they child would have an accent i'm american to i actully travel to england alot for flilming i love the british accsent i can fake it easily but i can't sometimes understand what my british co-stars or saying p.s. american teens dace way better then british ones p.s. tom felton cant dance , my family ones 3 house in england but i never once meet the queen have you the first time i was in england i did the stupid american thing but it was for a movie i live in the u.s. and england and eastern europe and canada becase i act

I know both britons in america and americans in england. Their children speak with their parents' accents when speaking with their parents, but outside the home, they speak with the accent of the country they're living in.

Sort of like being bilingual, but with only one language. They can conciously switch between them too, of course.

the child would most likely speak with a british accent. the guy would speak like always unless he lerned to talk differntly or used british words like mate (= friend).

the child would talk british english ... and the american guy would probably start talkin british english after some time

individual accents are learned from the environment. it has nothing to do with how your parents spoke. if that kid is raised in England he will speak like them, not you.
