Really they shouldn't if they take care of their bodies. She may have an infection like bacterial vaginosis or one of the ones mentioned below.BV emits a strong fishy odor. which can increase odor though. She should see a gynecologist. Every woman's scent is different but it should not be that strong. She may want to use something like a feminine spray or deoderant powder but has to be careful cause those can cause and infection too if you use too much, etc. It could also depend on what she ate though if this is a one time thing - it does happen or like someone said sweating, etc but if she smells like that right out of the shower, something is wrong. Just like all men can taste different depending on what they eat - that's true so...
But if it is strong then she probably has a yeast infection, vaginitis or some other infection which can produce this smell. If you were to mention it to her, if it is your gf, she will be sensitive about it I assume, so just tell her that she has a stronger smell than usual and maybe she should see her dr - even if she took antibiotics lately, it could cause the above - so many things can. Too much use of cream, lotions, and sprays can too - there are so many reasons but most women do not smell like that when they shower and bathe regularly etc.

Also, after sex, a woman will smell stronger because of man's fluids and the woman's mixed together - so that is not her but if it is just her alone all of the time, there is something else going on.

Women have a natural scent n if they don't clean themselves properly then the smell becomes vial and overbearing which causes people 2 smell it through clothing or just from walking by. It can also come from sweating n not cleansing urself after sweating profusely.

It is usually caused by an infection. If you have itching along with it you might have a yeast infection in which can be treated with over the counter creams. Also you might try douching, that seems to clean bacteria out and makes you feel clean as well. If these things don't work then I would go to the gynocologist. Good luck to you,,,

as far as i understand the vagina has a self cleaning mechanism but needs to be washed clean manually at LEAST every twelve hours, as the moist area will develope strong smelling bacteria

Most women don't, but if they do its because she hasn't showered after intercourse, its the mans sperm that makes her smell that way
