Why religion would not make you my friend?

I don't want to be your friend because of what you believe but because of who you are..
We all die in the end..

It seems very non-religious to base friendship on what religion someone is.

Who you are is determined by what you believe. Therefore, religious belief or non-belief is a key part of a person's 'what you do'.
