I found out from someone that if you get married in a church once, and then you divorce, the second time you want to get married, you are not allowed to get married in a church again. Is this true or not? If it is true, then is this rule available for all countries? Is it available for Romania, too?
Oh, and also, is it true that the women is not allowed to wear a wedding dress even if the man is the one that divorced?

I don't know about the wedding dress thing, but only in catholism have I heard that you can't remarry in church if you have been divorced. You must first get an annulment(spelled wrong) Through the catholic church.

It seems you have been misinformed. Years ago before getting divorced of course, I was married in a church. Three months ago I married the woman of my dreams, who was wearing a wedding dress, I might add, in a church as well. However, there are some religions, where a priest or minister won't marry a person who has been previously married. You will have to check with the pastor or the church and see their requirements. Congratulations on your marriage. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

That may be true for Catholics but not for any other that I am aware of. Good heavens!! You are doing what God asks by getting married. If some church wants to keep you out...you need to find another church. God is not rejecting you, he is rejoicing you have the moral strength to actually marry in a time and age where so many do not. Wear your dress and book a church. Best of luck to you!

Hi there. The only reason you cannot marry in a church, be it the second / third / fourth time is when you are not a Chirstian (same for your spouse!). Otherwise, you are entitled to a Church wedding. I know nuts about Romania and wedding dresses but if any church refuses your request they should be damned by God for disobeying his wishes to reach out to all mankind.

Depends on what church you attend. I was married with the Justice of the peace the 1st time and in a church the 2nd. my 1st wife wore a maternity dress and my 2nd wore a wedding dress. I don't know a lot about Romania but if you and your fiance love one another why should it matter? God sees all. And...if your church refuses to do the nuptuals in the church, consider an outdoor wedding?

No that's not true, I know a lot of people who got married in the church, but got divorced and the 2nd time around they got married in a church again. I think it just depends on you and what you are must comfortable with.

You never said what religion you are. If you are Catholic then you would need an annulment from your previous marriage first before you get married again. The wedding dress thing is silly. A white wedding dress symbolizes a purity of the women not the man.

If you get married in a Catholic Church you cannot get remarried in the Catholic Church without first having an annulment (basically stating that the marriage never occured). If you get married in other churches, divorced, most pastors will allow you to remarry in this church. I have one friend who was married in the Catholic Church, divorced, changed faiths (Lutheran) and then many years later remarried in the Lutheran Church.

If you were married in a Catholic church and divorced, you may not be allowed to remarry in a Catholic church. The Catholic religion does not recognize divorce and therefore are very strict about allowing divorced people marry in their church. You can probably go to a Baptist or Lutheran church and get married, they are a bit more lenient when it comes to this.
