Spectroscopy is the interaction (specifially absorption or emission) of light and matter.
You can look to many parts of the EM spectrum to find a spectroscopic method.
RF- Used in NMR (MRI) and it invokes a transition between nuclei w/ magnetic moments aligned w/ an applied magnetic field to one opposing said magnetic field
Microwaves- Rotational states in molecules
IR- Vibrational excitation in molecules
NIR-VIS-Near UV- Electronic transitions in atoms and molecules
Gamma rays- transitions of nuclear states (not really used much)
Raman scattering is often referred to as spectroscopy, and it's similar and complementary to IR.

Ideal for investigative analysis or QC applications, spectroscopy is used to determine the molecular composition of a wide range of complex samples, including liquids, solids, & gases. FT-IR, FT-NIR, Infrared microsampling, Raman, Visible and UV-Vis techniques provide a molecular footprint for quantitative & qualitative analysis.

the two would nicely be utilized, atomic absorption is extra precise because of fact extra of the atoms are excited, so which you get a extra useful/extra sturdy interpreting indra, you purely contradicted your self! Na is a metallic and could be analysed via flame emission spectroscopy
