Michael Landsberg (host) starts off with an introduction of Heyman. Landsberg then says that Paul Heyman found Stone Cold Steve Austin. The first question was Why did Stone Cold leave the WWE and was it because he didn’t want to lay down for Brock Lesnar?

Heyman says Stone Cold was clearly a pissed off man. Austin did not like the direction the company was going. Heyman says Steve made lots of money and because of this is a dangerous man as he could just walk out. Steve was very upset with many aspects of the WWE such as the now, lack of communication in the company, how Debra was being used on television. Heyman said that Austin’s concerns were not being addressed by the WWE. Heyman said that Vince McMahon loves confrontation and when Austin walked out he didn’t give Vince satisfaction. Heyman mentioned that Vince would rather have had Austin say ‘screw off.’

Landsberg- Did WWE not do enough to keep Austin happy?

Heyman says maybe the Stone Cold character needed some time off. Lots of things had already been done with Steve.

Landsberg- But sports teams do this all the time by putting up with a lot of BS. Austin is a big money guy.

Heyman said he never had a problem with Steve. Heyman worked on the ‘Whats’ with Austin. Never found Austin to be a pain in the ‘butt’ or demanding. Heyman again touched upon the fans wanting things fresh. Heyman said it might be tough to put any character out there for six months and get the fans to ‘buy it.’

Landsberg- Triple H said on WWE Confidential that the WWE should not bring Stone Cold back because he could not be trusted. Do you agree with that?

Heyman says it depends on perspective. Heyman said he owned a company for seven years (ECW) and had to swallow a bunch of sh*t. And Vince is similar in a way that Vince will put his ego and personal matters aside if it’s right for business. If Bret Hart would bring in business then (snap) Vince would bring in Bret.

Landsberg- When Bret left after Survivor Series Vince could build on that by vilifying himself, but Stone Cold just left and left Vince with nothing.

Heyman said Austin left in the most insulting way but Austin knew what he was doing. (Heyman has a demeanor of Austin knew how to leave ‘the right way’ against Vince)

Landsberg- Do the wrestling fans want Stone Cold right now?

Heyman after a tiny pause says yes if the fans would pay to see him Vince would bring in Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Stone Cold Steve Austin is wrapping up a movie that the WWE is producing called "The Condemned" in Australia & he's not really gone from the WWE. Injuries & complications resulted in his retirement from the sport in 2003 & it's doubtful if he'll ever return to compete in the ring again.

They ran out of beer? LOL

He actually didn't really leave the WWE, he's not really wrestling for them at the moment, but he's doing movies for them.
What happened was that he and the WWE failed to see eye to eye about his renewd wrestling contract negotiations in early 2004, so they decided to part ways. Since than he's been freelancing for the WWE (including both ECW One NIght Stands), and the only contract he corrently has with them is for working in their movies division.
