After 4 year study majored in Chinese Language & Culture in the Normal University, I achieved my Bachelor degree of Education. Now I am living in Sydney. Added 2 years of practical experience of teaching Chinese in a high school in Beijing, am I quarlified to teach Chinese (Mandarin)at any Sydney public school?

It sounds like you would be!

The DET's employment site is www.teach.nsw.edu.au. You can apply from there. They only do interviews twice a year though, so you might have to wait a while.

If you want to check, call 1300 300 498 - the DET's staffing unit is actually one of the best sources of information I've found.

If you got your degree overseas, you might need to get an Australian B. Ed, but that shouldn't be too difficult.

In order to teach Chinese in Australian schools, you should be qualified both in Chinese as well as English.

Maybe submit your resume to as many universities that you can not just the public school. Good Luck. I don't see why not.
