It's a combination of things
There have been a few trade and security unions among countries that have seemingly developed behind the public's back. IE, the American Union and the European Union. For details just search on both of those and you will see the what countries are in the unions and what they do.
Then there is the new global market. This actually started in the 90s with the development of the WTO, the world trade organization.
Both of those are leading us to complete globalization. That is basically where each nation's market at home will come second to the world market. That is why you are seeing the republican party not trying to control illegal immigrants... they want the cheap labor to be able to compete with other corporations on the global market.
All of those are pieces of the New World Order which leads me to the answer of your question. The New World Order is a group of nations that will control the world by means of force, monitoring actions and religion.
Force - the goal is to take control of all nations that are in defiance of this new world order.
Monitoring - civil liberties are being taken away on a weekly basis and as long as we are in 'wartime' the president of the USA has authority to disobey any law he wishes. He has also signed almost 800 executive orders since being in office. These bypass congressional approval. He has done these in order to move the world towards Christianity also.
Religion - Do a search on executive order 13397. This is a recent executive order that creates a Faith Based Initiative Center within the Homeland Security Department. I recently met a friend on here from Kashmir and he said they have actually had Faith Based I. ppl there with funding... but the funds come with stipulations that you will convert to Christianity.
The end goal of a new world order is to have one governing power or government. The problem with this is that this government is not elected officials but based on the countries involved... like I mentioned above. And basically this group of nations will gang up on any nation that doesnt agree.. either by force or by sanctions, etc...
To me the meaning of democracy is a world made up of all different types of governments. Once we have one world government, we will have lost democracy forever.
PS Bush Sr actually used the term New World Order at the end of the Gulf War.

The new world order is a world governed by one government set out to controll and rull the people. lt is not a good thing, we all are differant with differant needs. To get to a new world order you have to have a reason for it, like a huge world war where 2/3 of the people die. So they inforce a one world government so this will not happen again. After ww2 The UN was set up, but is not a n w o. so now they have to have a war again! That is what all this invading of lebanom is all about then they will move onto syria, lran and all other arab states untill china comes in. The US and lsrael want a nwo, they are the destroyers of peace. Don't believe the media. think about the motive behind every thing.

The term "new world order" has been used to refer to a new period of history evidencing a dramatic change in world political thought and the balance of power.
The first usages of the term surrounded Woodrow Wilson's Fourteen Points and the call for a League of Nations following the devastation of World War I. The phrase was used sparingly at the end of the Second World War when describing the plans for the United Nations. The most recent, and most widely discussed, application of the phrase came at the end of the Cold War. Presidents Mikhail Gorbachev and George H.W. Bush used the term to try and define the nature of the post Cold War era, and the spirit of great power cooperation that they hoped might materialize.
New World Order consipiracy theories were made very popular by an organization called The John Birch Society (JBS). An ultra-conservative, Americanist organization founded in 1958 to fight what it saw as growing threats to the Constitution of the United States, especially a perceived communist infiltration, and to promote the free-enterprise system. The society was named after John Birch, a United States military intelligence officer and Baptist missionary in World War II who was killed in 1945 by armed supporters of the Communist Party of China, and whom the JBS describes as "the first American victim of the Cold War."
JBS refers to the New World Order as being a conspiracy perpetuated by secret organizations that controlled the course of political events throughout the free world.

We were first publicly made aware of it by Bush I, after the first Gulf war. It is in essence a way of 300 or so families round the world dictating to you and I how we are going to live our lives. If you live in the UK, you will be aware of Cameras on every street corner, Identity cards despite the fact you hold a passport, Government legislation that has stripped you of all privacy and the fact that the police can arrest you just on suspicion of criminal activity. If you are in the US, the Patriot Act, Internet monitoring, Bank account snooping and the ubiquitous 9/11 conspiracy.

"New World Order" was a term used by Bush I after the Gulf War I in 1991.
After the US victory it was meant to describe how US economic, political and millitary might would be used to shape the globe.
In the interests of America.
Since then...Presidents Clinton and Bush II have done thier best to realize that vision.

Americans love conspiracy theories, Occam's razor just isn't good enough,
it alludes to the ridiculous notion that there is a controlling body guiding world affairs. the normal suspects are the Jews, the masons and the Illuminati
