Favorite Historical figure? Probably Lu Bu, hed be the guy Id wanna meet anyway. He lived from (153 – 198) and was a military general and warlord during the late Eastern Han Dynasty and Three Kingdoms period in ancient China. According to the Chronicles of the Three Kingdoms, Lǚ Bù was a master in horse riding, archery, and armed combat, and was thus known as the Flying General. His usually portrayed wielding a Ji (halberd) on top of his steed Red Hare.

Besides being matchless on the battlefield, Lǚ Bù was also notorious for having betrayed and slain two separate masters (who were both his adoptive fathers). Lǚ Bù was eventually defeated and captured by Cáo Cāo in Xià Pī.

If youve never played Dynasty Warriors on playstation, you should invest bro. its a decent series and buyin em now would be pretty cheap since theyve been out for a while. thats where I learned about this guy.

Red Skelton, Jack Benny, Geroge Carlin, Buster Keaton, oh you mean Historical not Hysterical, how about WInston Churchill for his sheer chutzpah. A man making news since his teens well into his seventies a major player in World War One and Two. Not always right but immensely entertaining.

Elizabeth I of England.

She survived: an unstable childhood, psychotic father, neurotic & religiously fanatic sister, an impressionable and unreliable younger brother, a calculating & deviously ruthless brother-in-law, a power hungry, manipulating lover who got himself executed, the machinations of the aristocracy, several assassination attempts, poor health, a dangerous stupid cousin angling for her throne, the pressures on her to get married, the greed of a couple of long-term lovers - one accused of murder that did threaten the security of her throne.

She played a machiavellian game of politics for decades, held a firm grip on her aristocracy, was as tolerant as she possibly could be in an era of religious turmoil and slaughter, expanded Britain's sea power, brought peace to an exhausted country and actually brought England into the red financially.

All 500 years ago when women were "belongings" and considered baby-machines without brains. And she did it with very little help too.

Indeed, she was some woman.

BTW, why are people amazed and so often have favorites among people who didn't done anything else but destroy and concuer land, people, etc.?
