Take a 128kps MP3 file, which is roughly 5mb for 3-4 minutes of music. With that, you can have around 6 songs. However, if the file was 312 (Hi-Def.), then each would be around 10mb, and you could only hold 3. Yet if your mobile holds wma, each wma file would only be around 2 to 3 mbs at 128, and could hold much more.

Hi,
U should have had mentioned u r mobile handset type, coz some support only mono whereas some support stereo.
If u r phone has mono and no stereo support then u can convert all the songs to mono and then upload it to u r cell phone, this way its size will be reduced and u can store more number of songs.
In case u r cell phone supports stereo then nothing much can be done. (Except increasing u r memory)

There are certain softwares available for compressing songs and making them suitable for use on a mobile phone.
You can store 30 to 50 songs of full length, if they are in .rm or .ram format with 20 khz voice quality.
Still it depends on the length of the songs, original quality of the songs etc.
