We have a platform with stairs leading to the 2nd floor. The wood supporting beams were beginning to rot so we replaced it with steel beams. The city did not approve so we would like to replace the steel beams with wood. Any suggestions or interest?

Sounds like you need to hire the services of a local contractor. Since you are a Yahoo user, why not try the Yahoo Yellow Pages:

Check out references and verify the contractor's license before signing a contract. In addition, you will need to make sure that the renovations are designed according to applicable codes in order to avoid a repeat of the problem you have now.

Good luck with your search.

Last time I checked silverlake had yellow pages delivery. Look up contractors that do business in your area. He may suggest that you put wood beams - then put the steel beams back up when the inspector gets done inspecting. LOL
