im almost 16 and ive wanted to get my tongue pierced forever, but of corse my parents wont let me, any idea how to talk them into it? or any help at all!

Where do you live? Its legal in canada without a parents permission. My friends roadtripped there when I was 16, then again I live in Michigan so its not far.

Your tongue will not remain pierced forever. If you remove the barbell, it will close up. I've had my tongue pierced for 9 years now, and if I leave it out for more than 1 1/2 weeks it is difficult to get the jewelry back through.
If your parents say no at *almost* 16, then you should just wait until you are 18, when you are at a legal age of consent and can sign the form yourself.

When my step-daughter turned 16 we took her to get her tongue pierced. She has since removed it.......she didnt like the way food got caught in places and stuff and she had to remove it for a job. There is also the possibility of broken teeth. But my husband has a pierced ear and I have 7 in one ear and 6 in the other, a pierced nostril (r), and my belly button was pierced before I got pregnant....I will get it repierced when I'm a bit more toned...
Ask your parents if they trust you. Tell them you are just expressing yourself.....they should understand it to some point........they were probably in school with alot of punkers etc... It doesnt make you a bad person and it's a matter of self expression............LOL.......tell them better that than DRUGS OR SEX!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It only cause infection if you don't take care of it and if they piercer used a bad needle or other things of that nature. If you're only almost 16 why don't you stick to something that isn't seen as used purely for sexual pleasure. That's probably why they won't let you. Start off with something else like a belly button or an eyebrow. Wait until you're 18 for the tongue. They can't stop you then.

Did you know that a tongue piercing can lead to brain problems. There is a blood vesel in your tounge and when you put a hole through it bacteria can easily get inside. When the bacteria gets into your blood stream it will travel up to your brain and can lead to some brain disfunctions. Since the piercing would be in your mouth it would get tons of bacteria everyday due to the things you eat. Sometimes you should listen to your parents.

They are *your* parents. How would we know how to talk to them to convince them to let you get the piercing?
That aside, in at least one city it is illegal for a minor (anyone under the age of 18) to get an oral piercing because they consider the mouth a sexual orifice.

try to gain their respect to make them let you. or tell them if you do *so and so* you can get your tongue pierced. i do that all the time to get something i want.

my god.
why do you want to be pierced on the tongue anyway? listen to your parents. avoid infection. avoid hassles. accept yourself. human were not made to be tongue pierced.
or better yet try it. surprise them.

im 15 and i have mine done i just told my mother that its my body and i really wanted it,i payed for it and promised to keep it clean and not let it look nasty and play with it all the time.
