Israel is surrounded by hostile neighbours. Its very existance is always in question unless it possess a "No mess up with me" image to it's neighbours.
the other reason is it knows that it has the backing of the USA.

Israel is a creation of Western powers in a hostile region. They think offense is the best defense policy. I pity them.
As long as the U.S. and West supports Israel, they will be able to continue with the policy. There is a danger that Israel does not see that is lurking.
It is possible that Oil becomes very very scarce and the Middle-east dictatorships to keep their dictatorships going would want to show to their people something so that they are at peace at home. They can handle resentment only to certain level.
At that time, they can ask for Israel as a price and U.S. and West will unashamedly ditch Israel. And without their support, the huge hostile biological mass that surrounds Israel can wipe it off and trigger another 2 B.C.
As of today they are happy with being offensive, but do not understand that this will destroy their future.
Eventhough Jews are intelligent people, some curse or fate is following them and making them to get into this cycle.
Peace-loving, intelligent jewish community shud wake-up, if it has interest in future. The current level of negativism that they have generated around the world is huge and immeasurable and transcends all continents and races.
Jews are one of the oldest, finest communities around the world with interesting philosophies comparable to Upanishads and Vedas and hope they do well in their future.

If any other country in the world would be bombed repeatedly for years and years and not retaliate, you would not be asking why they are aggressive. You would say that they have a right to defend themselves.
Just because you don't see the day to day bombings in Israel on CNN or any other new channel, does not mean they don't exist. It just means that is is so routine that no one thinks it is news.

Hamas/Hebollah breached a cease-fire. As soon as the Palestinians got Gaza, Hamas sent ppl to start launching rockets at Israel. Hamas, the ruling party of Lebanon, declared that Israel must recede to it's 1967 borders. Then, they captured two Israel soldiers on Israeli soil, killing 8 others in the process when Israel didn't respond. Lets also not forget the countless amounts of terrorist attacks from Hamas/Hezbollah
So....Why is Hamas/Hezbollah so aggressive?

Thought it was Hezbollah who fired rockets/missiles into Israel first? If Israel responded to that, is that aggressive?

It is the declared policy and continuing action of Hizbollah to destroy Israel. For some reason, the Israelis do not wish to be destroyed, and they tend to resist.
